Dear Friends and Visitors . . .

Thank you for visiting the web site of Wicomico Presbyterian Church. We are a part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and very proud of our heritage and history. For nearly 330 years, we have been serving our Lord Jesus Christ and meeting the needs of our brothers and sisters in this area and the world.

We are a group of people who love each other and our Lord Jesus Christ. If you are looking for a church family, please visit us. I think you'll find us to be a genuinely welcoming congregation.  Whoever you are and wherever you come from, you will find an acceptance here that will be very special.  Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you'll find a place with us.

Our church is big enough to have some special programs - such as our superb choirs, Women's Circles, and Wonderful Wednesday events - but small enough for everyone to find a place in our church family. We work together harmoniously to fulfill our mission, which is to call all to Christ-like maturity and to equip them to effectively serve the Lord in the Church and in the world. We will accomplish this by proclaiming the word of God as set forth in the Scriptures; by loving God through obedience to the Scriptures as they are revealed to us in worship, study and prayer; and by showing God's love to all.

We invite you to our worship service, and I welcome the opportunity to talk to you personally.

Donald M. Rising

Pastor

The Season of Lent
The season of Lent began on Wednesday, March 5th. Lent is a 40-day period of prayer, fasting and self-examination in preparation for the celebration of the resurrection of the Lord at Easter. The Sundays in Lent are not counted in this reckoning of the time between Ash Wednesday and Easter, as every Lord’s Day is a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Holy Week is the week immediately preceding Easter Sunday.

Maundy Thursday Service
The Maundy Thursday Communion and Tenebrae Service will be held on April 17 at 7:30 PM. The service commemorates Jesus’ Last Supper in the Upper Room with his disciples and is one of the high points of Holy Week. We will also come to our Lord’s Table for the Sacrament of Communion.

Easter Sunday at WPC
Christ is risen! Christ is risen indeed! Celebrate the resurrection of our Lord in worship on Sunday morning, April 20th, at 11:00 a.m.

One Great Hour of Sharing
Since 1949 Presbyterians have joined with millions of other
Christians through One Great Hour of Sharing to share God’s love with our neighbors-in-need around the world. Your generous gifts to this Special Offering help provide relief to those affected by natural disasters, provide food to the hungry, and assist in helping to empower the poor and oppressed. Special OGHS envelopes are available in the pews, and WPC's offering will be received throughout Lent.

April 27th is Choir Sunday!
Join us for a special worship service on Sunday, April 27th, at 11:00 a.m. when WPC's choirs will lead our worship service.
