Dear Friends and Visitors . . .

Thank you for visiting the web site of Wicomico Presbyterian Church. We are a part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and very proud of our heritage and history. For nearly 330 years, we have been serving our Lord Jesus Christ and meeting the needs of our brothers and sisters in this area and the world.

We are a group of people who love each other and our Lord Jesus Christ. If you are looking for a church family, please visit us. I think you'll find us to be a genuinely welcoming congregation.  Whoever you are and wherever you come from, you will find an acceptance here that will be very special.  Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you'll find a place with us.

Our church is big enough to have some special programs - such as our superb choirs, Women's Circles, and Wonderful Wednesday events - but small enough for everyone to find a place in our church family. We work together harmoniously to fulfill our mission, which is to call all to Christ-like maturity and to equip them to effectively serve the Lord in the Church and in the world. We will accomplish this by proclaiming the word of God as set forth in the Scriptures; by loving God through obedience to the Scriptures as they are revealed to us in worship, study and prayer; and by showing God's love to all.

We invite you to our worship service, and I welcome the opportunity to talk to you personally.

Donald M. Rising

Pastor

Another Very Special Musical Sunday!

The Asbury Methodist's Chancel Choir will join WPC's Chancel Choir on Sunday, May 17th, for a special combined musical program during the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Children from both churches as well as several instrumentalists also participated in presenting Rutter's Mass of the Children. This program will be presented at the Asbury Methodist Church in Salisbury during the 11:00 morning worship service. If you missed the one on May 3rd, you won't want to miss it on May 17th!

“God, from my youth You have taught me.” (Psalm 71: 17)
Pentecost Sunday, May 24th
Each year on Pentecost Sunday, we celebrate the arrival of the Holy Spirit as a bringer of new life. The Pentecost Offering is one of the four Special Offerings of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). A gift to the Pentecost Offering helps the church encourage, develop, and support its young people, and also address the needs of at-risk children. 40% of the Pentecost offering can be retained by individual congregations wanting to make an impact in the lives of young people within their own community. The remaining 60% is used to support ministries of the Presbyterian Mission Agency. You may place your offerings in the special Pentecost offering envelopes distributed in the bulletins or mark on a plain envelope "Pentecost." We will celebrate the Sacrament of Communion on the 24th. Wear red to celebrate!

Helping our Neighbors in Need

Our community's need for food continues through the spring and summer months. WPC maintains an ongoing food collection for our neighbors in need. Please bring your non-perishable food items to deposit in the box in the church lobby.  The Deacons oversee this program and transport the food to the Lazarus Food Pantry.
