Dear Friends and Visitors . . .

Thank you for visiting the web site of Wicomico Presbyterian Church. We are a part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and very proud of our heritage and history. For over 325 years, we have been serving our Lord Jesus Christ and meeting the needs of our brothers and sisters in this area and the world.

We are a group of people who love each other and our Lord Jesus Christ. If you are looking for a church family, please visit us. I think you'll find us to be a genuinely welcoming congregation.  Whoever you are and wherever you come from, you will find an acceptance here that will be very special.  Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you'll find a place with us.

Our church is big enough to have some special programs - such as our superb choirs, Women's Circles, and Wednesdays Alive dinners and activities - but small enough for everyone to find a place in our church family. We work together harmoniously to fulfill our mission, which is to call all to Christ-like maturity and to equip them to effectively serve the Lord in the Church and in the world. We will accomplish this by proclaiming the word of God as set forth in the Scriptures; by loving God through obedience to the Scriptures as they are revealed to us in worship, study and prayer; and by showing God's love to all.

We invite you to our worship service, and I welcome the opportunity to talk to you personally.

Donald M. Rising

Pastor

The Season of Lent
The season of Lent, 40 days of spiritual preparation leading up to Easter, began on Ash Wednesday, February 17th. Join us for worship each Sunday as we move toward the events of Holy Week and Easter Sunday. On April 1st, Maundy Thursday, we will observe the Sacrament of Communion by intinction during a Tenebrae service at 7:30 p.m. We look forward to a joyous celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord in worship on Easter Sunday, April 4th.

"Feed My Sheep" - One Great Hour of Sharing

One of our strengths as Presbyterians lies in sharing what we have with others, a discipline that for more than 60 years Presbyterians have exercised through the One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS). This year's offering theme, drawn from Jesus' last encounter with his disciples, highlights the message he leaves them - to focus not on one's own needs but on those of others. "Do you love me?" he asks three times. Three times he repeats a variation of the instruction "Feed my sheep."

Your donations to the One Great Hour of Sharing support the ministries of Presbyterian  Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and the Self-Development of People. In sharing resources with people in need around the world, we not only witness God's love in action in their lives, we feel it moving in our own.

Wicomico Presbyterian will receive the OGHS offering on Sunday, March 28th.

Frills Reception - March 14th
Join us in the social hall after worship for a "Frills" reception on Sunday, March 14th. It's a great time to enjoy good food and marvelous fellowship.

Wednesdays Alive - Dinner and Bible Study
Wednesdays Alive is a weekly time of shared food, fellowship, and programs. Our weekly get-togethers begin with a covered dish dinner at 6:00 p.m. in the social hall. A program for adults, music for kids, and nursery care are provided from 6:30 until the evening concludes (around 7:30 p.m.)  After our covered dish dinner, we will continue the Old Testament study that started in the fall. All are welcome!
